Hebrews 2:3 (KJV)
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,
and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
This verse is not about if we commit sin. This is about neglect! It is not about those of us who are murders, thieves, atheists, doubters, adulterers. It is only about neglecting salvation, not grasping hold of it. To neglect is enough to ruin a person.
A business owner does not have to steal to ruin his business; he only needs to neglect his business and it will come to ruins.
Are you sick? Would you destroy yourself by cutting off your arm? No, neglect is the only thing that will inhibit your restoration from illness.
Afflictions in life are simply caused by neglect.
Would you neglect your child’s education and allow them to be ignorant?
Would you neglect your garden and expect fruit to grown? Or would it be overcome by weeds?
The can be no reward from this world if there is neglect; so why is this not so in religion?
Nothing in this world can be saved if it is not attended to, taken care of, or has your devotion. So why are you neglecting your soul?
Feed your soul with God’s word. Do not neglect your salvation!
Remind yourself of it!
Grasp onto God to keep your spirit fresh, new, revived, and a well of living water so you can feed others with God’s saving grace!
